DILG7 confers Seal of Good Housekeeping to 16 recipient CV LGUs

The sixteen (16) recipient Local Government Units of Region 7 were given the Seal of Good Housekeeping Award for their good governance performance in internal housekeeping particularly in the areas of Good Planning, Sound Fiscal Management, Transparency and Accountability, and Valuing Performance Management. These are, namely, the Municipalities of Balilihan,Maribojoc, Clarin, Dauis, Loboc, Panglao, Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, San Miguel, Jagna and Ubay, from Bohol Province, the City Canlaon and the Municipalities of Amlan, Tanjay, Bacong, Dauin, San Jose from the Negros Oriental Province.

The regional conferment ceremony took place on September 27, 2011 at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City.

Balilihan, Maribojoc and Amlan which were granted with the “Seal” during the first round of assessment conducted in CY 2010 are now implementing development projects funded under the DILG’s Performance Challenge Fund (PCF). Together with these LGUs, the Municipality of Catigbian, Bohol received granted P1 Million each for the implementation of LGU development initiatives that are aligned to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
